Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu stated that the meeting of the new Board of Directors of the International Islamic News Agency, which was held today under the chairmanship of its chairman Minister of Culture and Information Iyad bin Amin Madani, was the first meeting of the Board after being formed by the Information Ministers of the Islamic States during their meeting held in Jeddah last September. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the meeting, he said that "we are working within the framework of Makkah ten-year plan document which emerged from the Extraordinary Islamic Summit called for by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz." He pointed out that the new trend now is to start a new work by using a new way and methodology that takes into account the reality of Islamic work. "A committee will be formed and a study financed by the Islamic Development Bank will be conducted in order to develop the agency to serve Islam and Muslims in the field of media," he added
