MEETINGS OF THE 8TH SESSION OF THE SAUDI-PAKISTANI COMMITTEE WERE CONCLUDED HERE TODDY. AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE MEETINGS, THE TWO SIDES SIGNED A JOINT DOCUMENT INCLUDING A NUMBER OF RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE ECONOMIC, TRADE AND CULTURAL FIELDS. THE DOCUMENT WAS SINGED BY HEADS OF THE TWO SIDES OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE, DR. HASHIM BIN ABDULLAH YAMANI AND PAKISTANI MINISTER OF COMMERCE HAMYON AKHTAR KHAN. DURING THE MEETINGS, THE TWO SIDES STRESSED BOOSTING TRADE BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES AND REACHING AN AGREEMENT ON PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF INVESTMENTS. THE TWO SIDES WELCOMED THE CURRENT NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN THE GULF COOPERATION COUNCIL COUNTRIES AND PAKISTAN TO SET UP A FREE TRADE ZONE. --MORE
