Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived here last night on a two-day visit to Jordan. He is scheduled to hold talks with senior Jordanian officials on issues of mutual interest. The Jordanian News Agency said that Russian President will hold today formal talks with Jordanian King Abdullah II on means for developing and strengthening the bilateral relations in the political, economic, commercial, investment, scientific, cultural and tourism domains. They will also sign a number of agreements, the Agency added. The agency noted that the Jordanian-Russian summit talks will focus on the overall developments of the situation in Middle East region, particularly in the Palestinian territories and Iraq as well as the efforts being made to revive the peace process between the Palestinians and Israel.
