Visiting Secretary of Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Ammar, has met Religious Affairs Minister Mohammad Ejazul Haq along with his delegation, an official statement said. Haq briefed Al-Ammar about the working and functions of Ministry of Religious Affairs and said 155,000 pilgrims from Pakistan performed Haj this year. He informed him about the collection and distribution of Zakat in Pakistan and discussed with him other issues of mutual interest. Haq said that more than 13,000 Madaris (religious seminaries) have been registered with the Government of Pakistan. He said that Madaris are now imparting scientific education to their students. Al-Ammar briefed Haq about the activities of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia. Haq thanked the Saudi Secretary and his delegation for their visit to Pakistan.
