The Ministry of Interior issued a statement, saying a Pakistani national named Khan-Zada Abdul-Qayoum, was executed today in Riyadh, after being convicted of drugs smuggling. The statement said "Khan-Zada had smuggled a quantity of heroin inside his intestine to Saudi Arabia. The resulting investigation of his indictment, including charges and then its referral to the Court, had proved him guilty of smuggling drugs and resulted in the passage of the ruling on his execution. This ruling was ratified by the Court of Cassation and the permanent members of the Supreme Judicial Council. The implementation of the ruling has been approved by a royal decree. The execution of Khan- Zada Abdul-Qayoum was carried out in the city of Riyadh," the statement said. It also reaffirmed the government's keenness to fight drugs because of their different kinds of damages on individual and community as well as the government's determination to implement heaviest penalties on the perpetrators.
