A roadside bomb killed a U.S. soldier and wounded four others Monday in northern Iraq, the military said, while two Marines were reported killed in the volatile Anbar province, AP reported. The Task Force Lightning Soldier assigned to 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division died after his vehicle was struck by a blast while conducting combat operations in Ninevah province, according to a statement. The U.S. military also said two U.S. Marines were killed in separate attacks in Anbar province on Sunday, a day after 25 U.S. troops were killed in a particularly bloody weekend for American forces in Iraq. The Marines assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit died Sunday of wounds sustained due to enemy action in the insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad, the military said in a statement. The names of the deceased troops were not released pending notification of relatives.
