A moderate earthquake rattled the ancient Indonesian city of Yogyakarta on Friday, but there were no reports of damage and casualties, dpa reported. The quake, measuring at least 5.7 on the Richter scale, struck Yogyakarta province in Central Java at 9:44 a.m. (0244 GMT), according to a statement from the Jakarta-based Meteorology and Geophysics Agency. The US Geological Survey measured the quake at 5.9, according to a statement on its website. The quake's epicentre was in the Indian Ocean, about 33 kilometres beneath the seabed and 283 kilometres south of Yogyakarta province.
