FOREIGN MINISTERS OF THE GULF COOPERATION COUNCIL MEMBER STATES, EGYPT AND JORDAN, CONFIRMED COMMITMENT TO THEIR COOPERATION FOR UPGRADING SECURITY AND STABILITY IN THE MIDDLE EAST, INTEGRITY OF THE WORLD ECONOMY AND BRINGING ABOUT INTERNATIONAL STABILITY. IN A STATEMENT FOLLOWING A MEETING HERE TONIGHT, THEY EMPHASIZED THAT DESTABILIZING THE REGION DESTABILIZES THE NATIONAL INTERESTS OF EACH COUNTRY AND VOWED TO CONTINUE LONG-TERM COOPERATION TO CONFRONT ANY THREAT AGAINST THE SECURITY AND STABILITY OF THE REGION. THEY CALLED FOR THE PREVALENCE OF MUTUAL RESPECT, TOLERANCE, NON-INTERFERENCE IN INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF OTHERS, UNDERSTANDING, DIALOGUE, CO-EXISTENCE, RAPPROCHEMENT AMONG CIVILIZATIONS AND VOWED TO WAGE WAR AGAINST HATRED, VIOLENCE, AND JUSTIFICATION OF TERRORIST CRIMES. THEY CALLED FOR THE INTEGRAL UNITY, SOVEREIGNTY , AND INDEPENDENCE OF IRAQ. THEY CALLED ON IRAQ'S DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENT TO WORK FOR NATIONAL RECONCILIATION. THE MINISTERS CONDEMNED VIOLENCE, KILLING AND TERRORISM IN IRAQ. ON THE PEACE PROCESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST, THEY CONFIRMED THEIR COMMITMENT TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF TWO STATES LEADING TO THE SOLUTION OF THE PALESTINIAN ISRAELI CONFLICT, BASED ON THE PRINCIPLES OF THE ROAD MAP, ARAB PEACE INITIATIVE AND UN SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTIONS NO. 242, 338, 1397 AND 1515. THEY EXPRESSED OPTIMISM THAT REACHING A JUST AND PERMANENT SOLUTION TO THE PALESTINIAN ISRAELI CONFLICT WOULD CONSTITUTE A DECISIVE FACTOR FOR PEACE AND RECONCILIATION BETWEEN ISRAEL AND ITS NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES.
