Rescue crews aided by dogs searched through tons of earth Sunday looking for at least seven people feared buried after the ground gave way at a construction site for a new subway station in South America's biggest city, according to The Associated Press. The walls of a huge hole being excavated for the station collapsed on Friday, creating an enormous crater. Citing witnesses, authorities said that a minibus with a driver, fare collector and two passengers fell into the crater when the construction site collapsed. Two pedestrians and a truck driver who was working at the construction site next to one of Sao Paulo's busiest highways may also be buried underneath the rubble, according to the government's Agencia Brasil news agency. Authorities said it was still possible that people have may have survived nearly 48 hours after the collapse.
