THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF GULF COOPERATION COUNCIL (GCC) ARAB STATES ABDULRAHMAN BIN HAMAD AL-ATIYYAH CALLED FOR NOT MISSING AN OPPORTUNITY OF PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, NOTING THAT PEACE IS THE SOURCE OF HOPE AND A GUARANTEE OF A BETTER FUTURE IN THE REGION AND THE WORLD.
ADDRESSING MADRID 15 YEARS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE HERE TODAY, AL-ATIYYAH STRESSED THAT THE PIVOTAL ISSUE OF ARABS LIES IN FINDING PEACEFUL, COMPREHENSIVE AND JUST SOLUTION TO THE ARAB-ISRAELI DISPUTE, POINTING TO THE ADOPTION OF THE ARAB PEACE INITIATIVE BY BEIRUT ARAB SUMMIT IN 2002 .
HE AFFIRMED THAT THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE HAVE FULL RIGHTS TO RESISTING VIOLATIONS OF HUMAN RIGHTS RESULTING FROM ISRAELI CONTINUAL MILITARY OCCUPATION, ECONOMIC SIEGE, DEMOLITION OF HOUSES AND CONFISCATION OF TERRITORIES AND PROPERTIES OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE.
