SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE ARAB LEAGUE AMR MOUSA HAS UNDERLINED THE IMPORTANCE OF NATIONAL RECONCILIATION IN SOMALIA, AND SAID THE ARAB LEAGUE HAS BEEN WORKING TO REALIZE THAT GOAL. IN A STATEMENT TO THE PRESSMEN LAST NIGHT, MOUSA SAID A DELEGATION FROM THE ARAB LEAGUE WILL LEAVE FOR MOGADISHU ON WEDNESDAY TO HOLD MEETINGS WITH THE SOMALIAN PARTIES. HE POINTED OUT THAT HE WILL PROVIDE THE ARAB COUNTRIES WHICH ARE CONCERNED WITH THE SOMALIAN PROBLEM WITH A REPORT ON THE DEVELOPMENTS OF THE SITUATION THERE. MOUSA SAID A NUMBER OF AFRICAN COUNTRIES HAVE EXPRESSED READINESS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PEACEKEEPING FORCES DUE TO BE SENT TO SOMALIA.
