Pakistani, Iranian Officials review political, economic and cultural ties

SPEAKER OF THE IRANIAN SHOURA (CONSULTATIVE) COUNCIL HADDAD ADEL HAS REVIEWED WITH HEAD OF THE FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE AT THE PAKISTANI SENATE MUSHAHID HUSSEIN ISSUES OF MUTUAL INTEREST.
SPEAKING ON THE OCCASION, ADEL HIGHLIGHTED THE PAKISTANI-IRANIAN RELATIONS AND DESCRIBED THESE TIES AS FINE IN POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL SPHERES.
ON THE RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MUSLIM WORLD, ADEL SAID AMERICA WAS PLANNING TO CHANGE THE MAP OF THE MUSLIM WORLD AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 21ST CENTURY AS BRITAIN DID AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY.
'BUT AMERICA FAILED IN CARRYING OUT ITS PLANS, HE SAID AND ADDED THE WEST STANDS AGAINST IRAN BECAUSE IRAN HAS BEEN RESISTING THE AMERICAN AND BRITISH PLOTS IN THE REGION.
ADEL UNDERLINED THE IMPORTANCE OF ENHANCING COOPERATION BETWEEN PAKISTAN AND IRAN FOR RESTORING STABILITY AND SECURITY TO AFGHANISTAN.
ADEL DESCRIBED THE IRANIAN GAS PIPE LINE PROJECT TO PAKISTAN AND INDIA AS AN EVIDENCE OF THE EXISTING FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES. HE HOPED THAT THIS GREAT PROJECT WILL SOON BE IMPLEMENTED.
ADEL ALSO LAUDED THE STAND OF PAKISTAN VIS-A-VIS THE IRANIAN NUCLEAR ISSUE, AND SAID IRAN WILL BE READY TO NEGOTIATE ON THIS ISSUE.
HE REITERATED THE RIGHT OF IRAN TO USE NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY FOR PEACEFUL PURPOSES.
ON HIS PART, MUSHAHID HUSSEIN UNDERSCORED THE IMPORTANCE OF PAKISTANI-IRANIAN COOPERATION FOR RESTORING STABILITY AND SECURITY TO AFGHANISTAN.
HE CALLED FOR FURTHER COOPERATION BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES FOR SOLVING THE PENDING PROBLEMS INCLUDING THE PHENOMENON OF TERRORISM AND DRUGS SMUGGLING.
HE POINTED OUT THAT THE RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN IRAQ, LEBANON AND PALESTINE HAS INDICATED TO THE DECLINE OF THE POLICIES OF HEGEMONY IN THE MIDDLE EAST.
MUSHAHID HUSSEIN CONFIRMED THE RIGHT OF IRAN TO USE NUCLEAR ENERGY FOR PEACEFUL PURPOSES, AND SAID THIS ISSUE SHOULD ONLY BE SETTLED THROUGH DIALOGUE.
