A forthcoming book written by an ex-U.N. weapons inspector will charge that Israel and its supporters in the United States are pushing America into a war with Iran, according to the Forward newspaper. The Forward, a Jewish newspaper, reported that Scott Ritter, a former United Nations weapons inspector, is accusing the pro-Israel lobby of dual loyalty and outright espionage. The Bush administration, with the help of the Israeli government and the pro-Israel lobby, has succeeded in exploiting the ignorance of the American people about nuclear technology and nuclear weapons so as to engender enough fear that the American public has more or less been pre-programmed to accept the notion of the need to militarily confront a nuclear-armed Iran, Ritter writes in his new book, according to the newspaper. Ritter in the book claimed that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the powerful, Washington-based lobbying outfit, is singularly loyal to the Jewish state, and should be registered as a foreign agent. Le there be no doubt: if there is an American war with Iran, it is a war that was made in Israel and nowhere else, Ritter says later in the book.
