Ten men were killed in shootouts before dawn Tuesday in two different neighborhoods of South America's biggest city, Brazilian media reported, according to AP. Six of the victims were shot by assailants wielding pistols shortly after midnight on a street corner in the poor neighborhood of Parelheiros, the Agencia Estado news agency reported. About an hour later, three masked men entered a shop 40 kilometers (25 miles) away in the blue-collar Sao Paulo suburb of Suzano and opened fire. Four men died, and another man and a teenager were wounded, Agencia Estado said. The gunmen fled on motorcycles.
