SINGAPOREAN PREMIER LEE HSIEN LOONG HAS REITERATED THE KEENNESS OF HIS COUNTRY ON FURTHER CEMENTING ITS RELATIONS WITH SAUDI ARABIA IN PARTICULAR AND WITH THE MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES IN GENERAL. HE MADE HIS REMARKS DURING HIS MEETING HERE TODAY WITH A NUMBER OF SAUDI BUSINESSMEN AND INVESTORS. HE EMPHASIZED THE KEENNESS OF HIS COUNTRY ON EXTENDING ALL POSSIBLE FACILITIES TO THE INVESTORS. HE POINTED OUT THAT SINGAPORE HAS BEEN WITNESSING A REMARKABLE INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF THE SAUDI TOURISTS. ON HIS PART, ABDULRAHMAN AL-JIREISI, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY OF RIYADH, EXPRESSED PRIDE OVER THE SINGAPOREAN EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. HE HOPED THAT SAUDI ARABIA WOULD BENEFIT FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF SINGAPORE IN ACTIVATING FOREIGN INVESTMENTS. AL-JIREISI SAID THE SAUDI INVESTORS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO ACTIVATE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH THEIR SINGAPOREAN COUNTERPARTS. THE VOLUME OF TRADE EXCHANGE BETWEEN SAUDI ARABIA AND SINGAPORE AMOUNTED TO MORE THAN SR 36 BILLION IN 2005.
