Commerce Minister Dr. Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani will patronize a symposium entitled "The Arab Gulf Cooperation Council Countries and World Trade Organization .. Improving Competitiveness in light of Changeable Global Economy," here on December 5. The two-day symposium will be organized by Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Federation of Chambers of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries; the Council of Saudi Chambers; and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). The symposium will focus on the Competitive Capabilities of the GCC Countries in light of WTO agreements; Unfair Trade Practices and the Protection of National Industries in GCC countries; Economic Reforms in GCC Countries in the Light of WTO and the Role of GCC Countries in the Current and Future Trade Negotiations in WTO. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
