At least 138 people were reported killed and over 200 wounded in a series of powerful blasts from car bombs and mortars Thursday in Baghdad's suburb of Sadr City, according to DPA. A curfew was imposed on the Iraqi capital after the attacks on the Shiite district in some of the most devastating carnage since the US- led invasion in 2003. Mortars shells shortly afterwards hit the predominantly Sunni Adhamiya district, injuring 10 people, the interior ministry said. The US military command in Fallujah reported Thursday that insurgents had killed three US marines in western Iraq Wednesday during operations in the western province of Anbar.
