A ROYAL DIRECTIVE HAS BEEN ISSUED TO INCREASE THE BARLEY SUBSIDY PROVIDED BY THE STATE TO CATTLEMEN FROM SR 250 TO 420 PER TON IN RESPONSE TO THE WORLD RISE IN BARLEY PRICES AS A RESULT OF DROUGHT SUFFERED BY SOME MAJOR PRODUCERS OF BARLEY, THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE DR. FAHD BIN ABDULRAHMAN BALGHUNAIM SAID. IN A STATEMENT TO THE SAUDI PRESS AGENCY, THE MINISTER, IN HIS OWN NAME AND ON BEHALF OF THE CATTLEMEN EXPRESSED HIS BEST APPRECIATION OF AND GRATITUDE TO THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ AND THE CROWN PRINCE FOR THEIR CARE OF AND ATTENTION TO CITIZENS. HE NOTED THAT A ROYAL APPROVAL INCREASED THE BARLEY SUBSIDY TO SR 250 PER TON IN 1425H.
