President General Pervez Musharraf has conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) award on General Qiao Qingchen, Commander of the People's Liberation Army (Air Force) of China at a special investiture ceremony in Islamabad, says an official statement. The award was given to General Qiao Qingchen in recognition of his consistent and valuable contributions for promoting relations and understanding between the Air Force of the two countries. General Qingchen, a reputed military commander and distinguished aviator, has remained the guiding force behind meaningful cooperation and enhanced relations between the Pakistan and Chinese Air Forces, the statement said. Earlier, General Qiao Qingchen called on the President and discussed the extremely close and fraternal relations between China and Pakistan. Musharraf lauded the services of Chinese Commander in giving meaningful and purposeful orientation to these ties. General Qiao Qingchen thanked the government of Pakistan for conferring on him a prestigious military award and expressed his resolve for further strengthening the excellent relations between the Air Forces of two countries.
