IYAD BIN AMEEN MADANI, MINSTER OF CULTURE AND INFORMATION, ARRIVED IN THIS ERITREAN CAPITAL OF ASMARA TO REPRESENT THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA IN A SIGNING CEREMONY OF PEACE ACCORD BETWEEN THE SUDAN NATIONAL GOVERNMENT AND ALSHARQ (EAST) FRONT, A REBEL FACTION DEMANDING EQUALITY OF POWER AND WEALTH FOR THE EASTERN PART OF THE SUDAN.
MADANI WAS RECEIVED AT THE AIRPORT BY MINISTER OF HEALTH OF ERITREA SALIH MAKKI AND SAUDI CHARGE D'AFFAIRES IN ERITREA MOHAMMED BAGARSH.
