A land mine blast killed two Turkish soldiers in southeastern Turkey, the local governor's office said Saturday. The mine was believed to have been placed by autonomy-seeking Kurdish rebels who are active in the area, the report said. It was unclear whether it had been laid before or after the rebels declared a unilateral cease-fire with Turkey on Oct. 1. The soldiers were killed near Hakkari, a town in Turkey's southeastern-most corner on the border with Iraq, the Associated Press reported.
