Air Force jet crashes near northern Indian garrison town

An Indian Air Force jet crashed minutes after it took off for a routine sortie from a military base in northern India Thursday, but the pilot ejected safely, a news report said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties from the
crash near Ambala town, 150 kilometers (95 miles) north of
New Delhi, the Press Trust of India reported.
The jet crashed over farm land, the report said quoting O.
P. Langyan, a local administrator.
