THE PRODUCTION OF THE MADINAH-BASED KING FAHD HOLY QURAN PRINTING COMPLEX, ESTABLISHED IN 1405 AH, SURPASSED 204 MILLION COPIES BY THE END OF 1426 AH. THE COMPLEX, BUILT ON AN AREA OF 250,000 SQUARE METERS, INCLUDES A MOSQUE, ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES, THE PRINTING PRESS, STORES, A CLINIC, A RESTAURANT AND A LIBRARY AND OTHER UTILITIES. THE PRODUCTIVE CAPACITY OF THE PRINTING PRESS AMOUNTS TO ABOUT 10 MILLION COPIES PER YEAR IN THE NORMAL TIMES. THIS NUMBER CAN BE INCREASED IN TIMES OF NEED. THE MEANINGS OF THE HOLY QURAN ARE PRINTED IN 47 LANGUAGES, INCLUDING 24 ASIAN, 11 EUROPEAN AND 12 AFRICAN LANGUAGES. AS MANY AS 1, 800 PERSONS ARE CURRENTLY WORKING AT THE COMPLEX INCLUDING MUSLIM SCHOLARS, TECHNICIANS AND ADMINISTRATORS. THE SAUDIS CONSTITUTE ABOUT 77 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL NUMBER. THE COMPLEX WORKS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE MINISTRY OF ISLAMIC AFFAIRS, ENDOWMENTS, CALL AND GUIDANCE.
