US stocks edge lower on caution before jobs report

U.S. stocks finished slightly
lower on Thursday, as investors were cautious about making big
bets on equities before Friday's jobs report and as retailers
posted mixed sales, according to Reuters.
Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones
industrial average was down 1.76 points, or 0.02 percent, to
end unofficially at 11,381.15. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index
was down just 0.57 of a point, or 0.04 percent, to finish
unofficially at 1,303.70. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down
1.89 points, or 0.09 percent, to close unofficially at
2,183.84.
