At least two persons were killed and some others trapped when a seven-storey building, rattled by last October's massive earthquake, collapsed in a hilly resort of Pakistan, Murree, 50 kilometers from Islamabad, officials said. The bodies pulled out from the rubble were those of the owner of the Summer Apartments, having residential flats, Aurangzeb, and his son, Nadeem, 25. His young daughter, Zahida, was rescued from the collapsed building alive. Army engineers were busy in clearing the rubble and retrieving those buried under it. Some time back, Murree Municipal Authorities declared the building dangerous for having been damaged by the earthquake. Officials said at least six persons including the watchman of the premises were still trapped in the rubble. The building, located in the main Murree bazaar where hundreds of thousands of visitors going to the hilly resort every summer shop, caved in around 3 a.m. Thursday. Besides the army engineers, volunteers and municipal authorities were busy in the rescue operation. Authorities came to know about the collapsing of the apartments after a girl trapped in the structure informed them about it on her cellular phone.
