SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE MUSLIM WORLD LEAGUE (MWL) DR ABDULLAH AL-TURKI RECEIVED HERE TODAY NIGER'S MINISTER OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR THE YOUTH AFFAIRS ABDU DAWADA. ABDU DAWADA BRIEFED DR AL-AL-TURKI ON HIS COUNTRY'S EFFORTS TO COMBAT DESERTIFICATION, DROUGHT AND POVERTY AS WELL AS ITS EFFORTS TO TRAIN THE YOUTH. HE LAUDED THE ASSISTANCE EXTENDED BY SAUDI ARABIA TO NIGER TO ENABLE IT OVERCOME PROBLEMS CAUSED BY DROUGHT AND DESERTIFICATION. ABDU DAWADA ALSO PRAISED THE SUPPORT EXTENDED BY THE INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC RELIEF ORGANIZATION (IIRO) , AN AFFILIATE OF THE MWL, TO NIGER. ON THE OTHER HAND, DR AL-TURKI RECEIVED HERE TODAY INDONESIAN AMBASSADOR TO SAUDI ARABIA SALEM SAKKAF AL-JUFRI. THEY REVIEWED ISSUES OF MUTUAL INTEREST. SPEAKING ON THE OCCASION, AL-JUFRI HAILED THE ROLE OF SAUDI ARABIA IN FIGHTING TERRORISM AND SPREADING THE PROPER ISLAMIC CULTURE. HE NOTED THAT COOPERATION BETWEEN THE MWL AND THE ISLAMIC INSTITUTIONS IN INDONESIA HAS YIELDED POSITIVE RESULTS. THE INDONESIAN AMBASSADOR CONFIRMED THE KEENNESS OF THE ISLAMIC AND CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS IN INDONESIA ON ENHANCING COOPERATION WITH THE MWL.
