A school bus packed with children fell into a fast-flowing canal in northern India on Tuesday, killing at least six children, police said. Around 30 children were missing, an officer said, after the bus went down the irrigation canal in the Sonipat district of northern Haryana state, about 180 km (110 miles) south of the state capital Chandigarh. The children were on their way to school. "The canal was flooded due to rains and the driver probably lost control of the vehicle," police officer K.N. Singh was quoted as saying by Reuters.
