THE DANISH GOVERNMENT HAS NOT BEEN TOO PASSIVE IN THE ONGOING MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT, FOREIGN MINISTER PER STIG MOLLER SAID SATURDAY, ACCORDING TO DPA. IN REMARKS TO REPORTERS AFTER A MEETING WITH THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, MOLLER SAID CRITICS OF THE GOVERNMENT WERE POSSIBLY AFFECTED BY "SUNSTROKE." "WE HAVE BEEN VERY ACTIVE. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH ALL PARTIES, INCLUDING ISRAEL, SEVERAL TIMES. WE HAVE BEEN VERY ACTIVE IN THE UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL AND VERY ACTIVELY SUPPORTED (UN SECRETARY GENERAL) KOFI ANNAN," MOLLER SAID, ADDING HE HAD ALSO TALKED WITH EUROPEAN UNION PARTNERS. DENMARK IS CURRENTLY A MEMBER OF THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL. MOLLER SAID DENMARK COULD POSSIBLY ALSO CONSIDER CONTRIBUTING TO A FUTURE PEACEKEEPING FORCE.
