THIRTEEN PEOPLE INCLUDING EIGHT POLICE OFFICERS AND TWO SUICIDE BOMBERS WERE KILLED IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS IN IRAQ, POLICE SAID SATURDAY, ACCORDING TO DPA. THREE POLICE OFFICERS DIED IN CENTRAL BAQUBA, 60 KILOMETRES EAST OF BAGHDAD, AND THREE POLICE OFFICERS AND THREE CIVILIANS WERE WOUNDED WHEN A ROADSIDE BOMB DETONATED AS THEIR CONVOY WAS PASSING ON SATURDAY. IN OTHER DEVELOPMENTS SATURDAY, THREE GUNMEN WERE KILLED DURING CLASHES WITH IRAQI TROOPS NORTHEAST OF MOSUL, 400 KILOMETRES NORTH OF BAGHDAD, AN IRAQI POLICE SOURCE SAID. THREE MEN TRAVELLING IN A VEHICLE OPENED FIRE ON AN IRAQI ARMY CONVOY AND WERE KILLED WHEN THE TROOPS RETURNED FIRE. FORGED IDENTITY CARDS, WEAPONS AND EXPLOSIVES WERE FOUND IN THE MILITANTS' CAR, THE SOURCE SAID.
