PRESIDENTS OF GEORGIA AND AZERBAIJAN WERE IN ISTANBUL ON WEDNESDAY TO HOLD TALKS WITH TURKISH LEADERS BEFORE THE INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF A U.S-BACKED PIPELINE CARRYING CASPIAN OIL TO TURKEY'S MEDITERRANEAN COAST. GEORGIAN PRESIDENT MIKHAIL SAAKASHVILI AND AZERBAIJANI PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIEV WERE TO ATTEND THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE BAKU-TBILISI-CEYHAN PIPELINE ON THURSDAY. THE CEREMONY WILL BE HELD IN CEYHAN. THEY ARE EXPECTED TO MEET WITH TURKEY'S PRIME MINISTER RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN AND ATTEND A DINNER HOSTED BY TURKISH PRESIDENT AHMET NECDET SEZER IN ISTANBUL ON WEDNESDAY.
