PRESIDENT GENERAL PERVEZ MUSHARRAF HAS CONFERRED THE AWARD OF NISHAN-I-IMTIAZ (MILITARY) ON LIEUTENANT GENERAL PRINCE ABDUL RAHMAN BIN FAHD AL-FAISAL AL-SAUD, COMMANDER OF THE ROYAL SAUDI AIR FORCE, ACCORDING TO AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT. PRINCE ABDUL RAHMAN BIN FAHD AL-FAISAL IS AN ACCOMPLISHED COMMANDER AND A DISTINGUISHED AVIATOR, WITH MANY STERLING QUALITIES. "HE HAS PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN PROMOTING AND STRENGTHENING THE BONDS OF GOODWILL AND COOPERATION BETWEEN THE AIR FORCES OF SAUDI ARABIA AND PAKISTAN." THE AWARD WAS CONFERRED IN RECOGNITION OF THE PRINCE'S PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS AND ENDEAVOURS FOR STRENGTHENING THE FRIENDSHIP AND COOPERATION BETWEEN AIR FORCES OF THE TWO COUNTRIES. DURING A MEETING WITH PRESIDENT YESTERDAY, MUSHARRAF RECALLED THE EXTREMELY CLOSE AND FRATERNAL RELATIONS BETWEEN TWO COUNTRIES AND LAUDED THEIR SERVICES IN GIVING A MEANINGFUL AND PURPOSEFUL ORIENTATION TO THESE TIES. THE PRINCE ALSO VISITED THE MINISTRY OF DEFENSE AND CALLED ON MINISTER FOR DEFENSE RAO SIKANDAR IQBAL. THEY REMAINED TOGETHER FOR SOMETIME AND DISCUSSED MATTERS OF MUTUAL INTEREST.
