Commission for South Asia and Asia Pacific of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will hold its next meeting in Islamabad in April next year, says an official statement. Salman Javed, Managing Director, Pakistan Tourism Development, said on return from China, that the decision to select Islamabad as the venue of its next meeting was testimony of Pakistan's commitment and effective policies being taken for the promotion of tourism. Javed had attended the meeting of Commission for South Asia of UNWTO as well as represented Pakistan at the Roundtable of Tourism Ministers of South Asia and Pacific Regions held under the auspices of UNWTO at Macau, China. He said that the Roundtable of the Tourism Ministers of the Asia Pacific Region shared experiences in Crisis Management such as Earthquakes, epidemics and terrorism and resolved to jointly continue exchanging ideas on desired actions to overcome and handle such crisis in the tourism sector.
