GENERAL DAN HALUTZ ORDERED THE PROBE AFTER AN ISRAELI MISSILE FIRED FROM A HELICOPTER WEDNESDAY EVENING MISSED ITS TARGET AND HIT A HOUSE, KILLING A PREGNANT WOMAN AND HER BROTHER AND INJURING AT LEAST 13 PALESTINIANS, AMONG THEM FOUR SMALL CHILDREN. THE TARGET HAD BEEN MILITANTS FROM THE POPULAR RESISTANCE COMMITTEES TRAVELLING IN A CAR ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE SOUTHERN GAZA TOWN OF KHAN YOUNIS. THE LATEST BOTCHED AIRSTRIKE WAS THE THIRD IN ONE WEEK IN WHICH CIVILIANS WERE KILLED IN GAZA. A DAY EARLIER, THREE CHILDREN AGED FIVE, SIX AND 16 WERE KILLED AND AT LEAST 12 PEOPLE INJURED IN AN AIRSTRIKE NORTH OF GAZA CITY, AND ON TUESDAY LAST WEEK, NINE CIVILIANS AND TWO MILITANTS WERE KILLED BY A MISSILE IN NORTHERN GAZA CITY.
