TWO UNDERSEA EARTHQUAKES ROCKED INDONESIA'S EASTERN SULAWESI ISLAND ON FRIDAY, BUT THERE WERE NO IMMEDIATE REPORTS OF DAMAGE OR INJURIES, THE GOVERNMENT'S GEOPHYSICS AGENCY SAID. THE MAGNITUDE 5.7 AND 5.4 QUAKES STRUCK THREE HOURS APART AND WERE FELT IN PARTS OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL SULAWESI, SAID AGENCY OFFICIAL ROBERT WAHYU. SOME PEOPLE IN THE CENTRAL SULAWESI TOWN OF TOLI-TOLI RAN OUT OF THEIR HOUSES AND OFFICES IN PANIC WHEN THE MOST POWERFUL QUAKE STRUCK, HE WAS QUOTED AS SAYING THE ASSOCIATED PRESS.
