A SECOND GROUP OUT OF A TOTAL OF MORE THAN 2,000 IRAQI PRISONERS WAS RELEASED ON SUNDAY UNDER A NATIONAL RECONCILIATION PLAN ANNOUNCED BY NEW PRIME MINISTER NURI AL-MALIKI LAST WEEK, WITNESSES SAID, ACCORDING TO REUTERS. DOZENS WERE RELEASED AT A MAJOR BAGHDAD BUS STATION AND THE OTHERS WERE FREED ELSEWHERE. NEARLY 600 DETAINEES WERE RELEASED ON WEDNESDAY. WHEN MALIKI MADE THE PRISONER RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT, HE REFERRED TO PEOPLE WHO HAD NO EVIDENCE AGAINST THEM AND WHO WERE NOT SADDAM HUSSEIN LOYALISTS OR PEOPLE WITH IRAQI BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS.
