Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, President of Meteorology and Environmental Protection Administration, headed the Saudi delegation to the tenth session of the GCC ministers in charge of the environment which started its deliberations here today. GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman Al-Atiyyah delivered a speech in which he mentioned that the GCC leaders had been keen ever since the establishment of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council to protect the environment through joint efforts. Al-Atiyyah added that GCC environment departments should coordinate and cooperate with specialized regional and international bodies to face emerging environmental risks such as radiation and nuclear dangers as well as Bird Flu through comprehensive studies and researches. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
