A BUS PACKED WITH PASSENGERS HIT A ROADSIDE TREE IN WESTERN BANGLADESH ON SUNDAY, KILLING 11 PEOPLE AND INJURING 39 OTHERS, A NEWS REPORT SAID. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED EARLY SUNDAY AT KALIGANJA AREA IN JHENAIDAH DISTRICT, 128 KILOMETERS (80 MILES) WEST OF THE CAPITAL, DHAKA, LOCAL TELEVISION STATION ATN BANGLA REPORTED. NINE PASSENGERS DIED INSTANTLY, WHILE TWO OTHER PASSENGERS DIED LATER AT A HOSPITAL, THE REPORT SAID. THE INJURED WERE BEING TREATED AT TWO HOSPITALS, IT SAID. AT LEAST A DOZEN VICTIMS WERE IN CRITICAL CONDITION, THE REPORT SAID, QUOTING UNNAMED HOSPITAL OFFICIALS.
