MONGOLIA IS A STRONG U.S. ALLY IN A REGION LONG DOMINATED BY RUSSIA AND CHINA, AND HAS CONTRIBUTED TROOPS TO AFGHANISTAN AND THE U.S.-LED COALITION IN IRAQ.
