Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao says the United States has agreed to release eight more Pakistanis detained in at Guantanamo Bay prison. Nearly twenty-nine Pakistanis were imprisoned in Camp Delta detention centre Guantanamo, Cuba, the minister told the reporters. He said efforts were underway to bring back the remaining 21 detainees. The minister said that a Pakistani team would leave for Guantanamo in a couple of days for ascertaining condition of detainees, securing their complete addresses and names. Majority of them were captured in Afghanistan a few years ago. According to a report of the International committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), various Pakistanis have also been imprisoned in different jails of Afghanistan. Sherpao said efforts were underway to send another team to Afghanistan for securing release of these Pakistani prisoners.
