INDONESIA'S HUMAN BIRD FLU DEATH TOLL CLIMBED TO 37 ON MONDAY AFTER THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION CONFIRMED THAT AN 18-YEAR-OLD BOY HAD THE H5N1 VIRUS, A SENIOR HEALTH MINISTRY OFFICIAL SAID. TESTS FOR THE BOY, WHO DIED MAY 23 IN A HOSPITAL IN THE CITY OF BANDUNG, CAME BACK POSITIVE FROM A WHO-SANCTIONED LABORATORY IN HONG KONG, SAID NYOMAN KANDUN, ADDING THAT A 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL ALSO WAS SICKENED BY THE VIRUS. BIRD FLU HAS NOW KILLED AT LEAST 125 PEOPLE WORLDWIDE SINCE IT BEGAN RAVAGING ASIAN POULTRY STOCKS IN LATE 2003, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS REPORTED.
