THREE CHILDREN WERE KILLED AND ONE INJURED IN A BOMB EXPLOSION SATURDAY IN THE EASTERN TURKEY TOWN OF ERZINCAN, THE ANADOLU NEWS AGENCY REPORTED. ERZINCAN GOVERNOR ALI GUNGOR TOLD REPORTERS THAT THE EXPLOSION OCCURRED IN A WOODEN HUT BEING USED AS A GARAGE NEAR A MUNICIPAL BUILDING, ACCORDING TO DPA. GUNGOR SAID THE CHILDREN HAD BEEN PLAYING NEAR THE EMPTY GARAGE WHEN THE EXPLOSION OCCURRED. EXPLOSIVES EXPERTS SAID THE BOMB HAD BEEN PLACED IN A BLACK BAG AND HAD A TIMING DEVICE. TWO OF THE CHILDREN, AGED 12 AND 11, DIED AT THE SCENE OF THE BLAST WHILE A THIRD CHILD, AGED SIX, DIED OF INJURIES IN HOSPITAL. THE OTHER CHILD, ALSO AGED SIX, WAS DESCRIBED AS BEING IN A CRITICAL CONDITION. GUNGOR SAID THAT THE TYPE OF EXPLOSIVES USED IN THE BOMB WERE OF A RUSSIAN-TYPE THAT HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN USED IN ATTACKS BY THE TURKISH WORKERS' AND PEASANTS' LIBERATION ARMY (TIKKO).
