A U.S. helicopter has crashed in Afghanistan, killing all 10 people on board, military coalition officials said. The CH-47 Chinook aircraft crashed late Friday near Asadabad in eastern Kunar province, the Coalition Press Information Center reported Saturday. A statement said the crash occurred during combat operations in the southeastern part of the country, but was not a result of enemy action, CNN reported. The helicopter was conducting operations on a mountain top landing zone when the crash occurred, it said. "Additional aircraft and crews were also at the landing zone and confirmed that enemy forces did not cause the crash."
