THE CARGO PLANE CARRYING RELIEF AID WHICH LEFT RIYADH EARLIER TODAY IN IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DIRECTIVES OF THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ ARRIVED IN MANILA TONIGHT TO EASE THE LANDSLIDE EFFECTS THAT RECENTLY HIT LEYTE PROVINCE IN CENTRAL PHILIPPINES. IN A STATEMENT TO SAUDI PRESS AGENCY, THE SAUDI AMBASSADOR TO THE PHILIPPINES MOHAMMED AMIN WALY RECALLED THAT SAUDI ARABIA HAS SENT URGENT RELIEF AID TO THE PHILIPPINES LAST YEAR TO ALLEVIATE THE SUFFERINGS OF FLOOD-STRICKEN PEOPLE IN SEVERAL PARTS OF THE COUNTRY. HE SAID THAT TODAY'S ASSISTANCE COMES WITHIN THE KINGDOM'S EFFORTS TO OFFER HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE WHEREVER NEEDED ALL OVER THE WORLD. HE EXPLAINED THAT THE ASSISTANCE INCLUDING 70 TONS OF FOODSTUFF, TENTS, RUGS AND BLANKETS WORTH SR 1.8 MILLION WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE PHILIPPINES GOVERNMENT.
