Australia's Tetheyan Copper Company (TCC) will invest $200 million on a copper project in Reco Dig area of Chagai district in Pakistan's Balochistan province. A TCC delegation gave this information to Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani during a meeting with him, according to an official statement. The delegation said the work on the project has been started and a gold firm of Canada has also joined the Australian company in the project. The Balochistan government would get 25% share of the project besides 2.5% as royalty, while local people would get jobs. The Governor lauded the project and termed it important for the province. He said it is the first ever copper project of Balochistan on which such a huge investment is being made. "It will not only increase the provincial government's revenue, but also promote foreign investment in the province", he said. --SP 11 22 Local Time 08 22 GMT
