Preparations to launch a bus service between Pakistani city of Quetta and Afghan city of Kandahar are in the final stages, according to Governor of Balochistan province Owais Ahmed Ghani. He told the Voice of America (VOA) that a six-member steering committee has been formed to review all arrangements for starting the bus service. Ghazi said that in its meeting, the committee finalized its tender and issued it. The bus service will be launched when Pakistani and Afghan consulates will sign the agreement, he added. The provincial governor expressed the hope that the entire process would be completed in the next three days. He said the survey work was also under way for laying railway track between Chaman (Balochistan) and Kandahar. He said that the Pakistan Railways would start work on this project next year.
