A DELEGATION FROM THE SHOURA (CONSULTATIVE) COUNCIL, LED BY ITS CHAIRMAN DR SALIH BIN HUMEID, WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE MEETING OF THE SHOURA COUNCILS OF THE ORGANIZATION OF THE ISLAMIC CONFERENCE (OIC) MEMBER STATES, DUE TO BE HELD IN ISTANBUL ON APRIL 12-13,2006. THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE MEETING ARE SCHEDULED TO REVIEW A NUMBER OF POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, CULTURAL AND SOCIAL TOPICS INCLUDING THE DEVELOPMENTS OF THE SITUATION IN IRAQ, OCCUPIED PALESTINE, SYRIA AND LEBANON. THEY WILL ALSO REVIEW MEANS FOR FIGHTING TERRORISM UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF THE UNITED NATION. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE MEETING WILL REVIEW THE IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION ON ECONOMIES OF THE DEVELOPING COUNTRIES NOTABLY THE MUSLIM COUNTRIES. IN THE CULTURAL AND SOCIAL DOMAINS THEY WILL REVIEW DESECRATION OF THE HOLY QURAN BY THE AMERICAN INVESTIGATORS AT GUATANAMO PRISON, MEANS FOR ENHANCING DIALOGUE OF CIVILIZATIONS AS WELL AS MEANS FOR CONFRONTING THE WESTERN CAMPAIGNS AGAINST THE ISLAMIC VALUES.
