A MODERATE EARTHQUAKE ON WEDNESDAY SHOOK THE PERSIAN GULF PROVINCE OF HORMUZGAN IN SOUTHERN IRAN, STUDENTS NEWS AGENCY ISNA REPORTED. THE REPORT SAID THE QUAKE WITH A MAGNITUDE OF 4.1 ON THE RICHTER SCALE SHOOK THE PROVINCIAL TOWN OF FIN NEAR THE QESHM ISLAND AT 15:53 (1223 GMT). NO REPORTS ON POSSIBLE DAMAGE WERE YET AVAILABLE.
