GOVERNORS OF THE MONETARY AGENCIES AND CENTRAL BANKS IN MEMBER STATES OF THE ARAB GULF COOPERATION COUNCIL (GCC) WILL HOLD THEIR 40TH MEETING IN ABU DHABI TOMORROW. DURING THEIR TWO-DAY DELIBERATIONS, THEY WILL REVIEW THE ARRANGEMENTS MADE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DECISION ADOPTED BY THE GCC SUPREME COUNCIL AT THE MEETING HELD IN ABU DHABI IN DECEMBER, 2005, PERTAINING TO THE MONETARY UNION AND ISSUANCE OF A UNIFIED CURRENCY AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS. MEANWHILE, THEY WILL BE BRIEFED ON THE ARRANGEMENTS MADE FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF A SEMINAR ON THE UNIFIED GULF CURRENCY, DUE TO BE ORGANIZED BY THE GCC GENERAL SECRETARIAT IN DUBAI ON APRIL 11-12. THE SEMINAR WILL BE ORGANIZED IN COOPERATION WITH THE CENTRAL BANK OF THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (UAE): THE FEDERATION OF THE GCC CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY: THE FEDERATION OF THE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY IN THE UAE AND THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY OF DUBAI. THE GCC IS MADE UP OF SAUDI ARABIA, THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, KUWAIT, QATAR, BAHRAIN AND OMAN.
