YEMENI AMBASSADOR TO PAKISTAN ABDUL ELAH MOHAMED HAJAR HAS PRESENTED TO PRIME MINISTER SHAUKAT AZIZ A CHEQUE FOR $3.548 MILLION FOR THE PRESIDENT'S RELIEF FUND FOR THE EARTHQUAKE AFFECTEES, ACCORDING TO AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT. HE INFORMED THE PREMIER THAT THIS AMOUNT WAS COLLECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF YEMEN AND IS A TOKEN OF THEIR LOVE AND SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN, AFFECTED BY THE LAST OCTOBER EARTHQUAKE. THE CHEQUE IS IN ADDITION TO THE CONTRIBUTION MADE BY THE GOVERNMENT OF YEMEN FOR THE EARTHQUAKE AFFECTEES. AZIZ ASKED THE AMBASSADOR TO CONVEY DEEP GRATITUDE TO THE PEOPLE OF YEMEN OF THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN WHO ARE MUTUALLY BOUND IN FAITH, CULTURE AND HISTORY. HE SAID PAKISTAN WAS EAGERLY AWAITING THE FORTHCOMING VISIT OF YEMENI PRESIDENT ALI ABDULLAH SALEH, WHICH WILL FURTHER DEEPEN THE EXISTING BILATERAL RELATIONS.
