The U.N. Arab Group addressed the U.N. Security Council on Thursday to condemn the illegality of unilateral Israeli moves in the Palestinian territories and to encourage the international community not to halt aid to the Palestinian people. "The government of Israel has intensified and accelerated its attempts to carry through with its unilateral actions intended to further entrench the illegitimate measures already taken by the occupying power in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem," said Palestinian Ambassador Riyad Mansour. Other Arab member-states voiced similar statements, and urged international pressure to remove the Israeli separation wall they say is built on Palestinian land. "The OIC (Organization for the Islamic Conference) believes that it is incumbent on the international community to exert pressure on the state of Israel to end its policy of creating and expanding settlements, respect and abide by the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, and demolish the separation wall," Yemeni Ambassador Abdullah Alsaidi said on behalf of the OIC. --More 12 39 Local Time 09 39 GMT
